NTITT’s “Hikers Digest”

Hello once again fellow trekkers. Wow, can you imagine how times do fly? This is already the 3rd edition of this Digest and before you know it, New Years will be on us. I hope that on your calendar for the New Year you have a bit of trekking and getting to know your country as you know that we have the habit of busying ourselves with work and nothing else but work hereby resulting in burn-out, frustration and other negatives coming into your life. Once you have that bit of recreation to add to your already busy lifestyle, that mixture will only auger well to your well being. So, start planning carefully whilst the going is good.

Review of last week.

Last week was not as hectic as the week before; nevertheless, a number of important issues were dealt with of course in preparation for the upcoming year where I am constantly looking at ways and means where I can implement things that would be to the benefit of both my company and to you my clients.

Wednesday 08th December 2011. Together with a buddy from school days, James Solomon, today a professional photographer got together with me as I decided to take him with me to Turure Water-Steps to take some shots of this wonderful place, as well as to take a number of shots of me for my profile for when the need arises. Things went beyond our expectations as the weather was fantastic hereby making the water-steps a dream and man did James do justice to the pictures handed down to me. I am also working on a project with these pictures that will be mentioned in a later newsletter.

I’ve also gotten many calls from different groups expressing their desire in doing hikes would you imagine on the Eve of Christmas, Christmas Day and even Boxing Day? Well, you all know my reply…..”OF COURSE”.  So folks, in the event you may want to do anything of the sort on those days and need my services, sorry about that, but I’m booked.

Saturday 10th December 2011. I had my hike to the ever popular Paria Bay and Waterfalls with a small group who wanted a burn and so, burn they got. We did not the boat return as we usually do. The walk to the beach was a good one as usual and after spending a few hours at the waterfall, we spent a short time at the beach and then made our way back into the forest. The trek back was faster than the way in much to my content. Paria will always be a great hike and I will feature this hike with the boat and without on a number of occasions next year.

Sunday 11th December 2011. I took things very easy on this day and virtually spent my day on the computer putting things in place for next year. I had a meeting with my graphic artist who will be doing up a number of professional presentations on my upcoming hikes and tours and also for a number of surprises on the plate as well for all hikers/clients.

I am also making an inclusion on my website sometime this week concerning my stint at Turure Water-Steps……look out for the surprise which I believe you may like very much.

GENERAL INFORMATION.

Today is certainly a very sad day indeed as on Sunday morning, I got a phone call from a former colleague of Trinbago Backpackers Hiking Club who notified me that one of my hikers “Antonia Charles” died on Saturday. This hiker is no older than 25 years and that death really came as a shock as she was so healthy and to our knowledge, she never ailed whatsoever. Rest in peace Antonia.

This coming Saturday, I am planning to do a scout on a trail that I meant to visit some time now, but never got the time; so I am dedicating this day for that expedition. On Sunday, I am doing a private hike with a group as requested.

So hikers, until further notice, you’ll will be notified with my activities as usual and as usual, you will be receiving another “Hikers Digest” before the Christmas week-end, so until then.
