Hikers Digest Volume 004

NTITT’s “Hikers Digest”

I would like to personally take the opportunity in wishing you all and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hope all your wishes and aspirations all come through in this upcoming year. As for me; this season is as usual as I am hiking and touring but privately as new clients are requesting such and as you’ll know me, I am looking forward to all.

Review of last week.

Last week was again a rather quiet one for me as a couple proposed tours and a hike were cancelled due to unexpected festivities that usually comes around in Trinidad during the upcoming Christmas holidays and so, parents in particular had to make some readjustments…..but knowing me, I just have to keep on being innovative in doing things and that’s just what I did.

Monday 12th December 2011. I visited a client who is actually a Trinidadian but lives in England and is actually on vacation in Trinidad. She hired my services to give her husband and in-laws historical tours in P.O.S. and San Fernando the following week to come. The balance of the day was quiet after that.

Tuesday 13th December 2011. Once again, I got together with my buddy James Solomon, the professional photographer I spoke about, and we headed out to Rio Seco Waterfall where as usual, he took out fantastic photos of the waterfall, the trail, the water flows and of me for my collection of “Profile Pictures” for future business. We virtually spent the day at the falls.

Saturday 17th December 2011. A hiking buddy of mine met me at the Eric Williams Medical Science Complex and we headed to the North-eastern part of Trinidad where we visited a river and we actually spent the entire day in this river where the series of natural pools and small rapids were just astounding and this is precisely the reason why I wanted to visit this river in particular and it definitely lived up to my expectation……soon I will certainly have a river exploration here as I am constantly looking for new trails and new ways in incorporating future hiking expeditions.

Sunday 18th December 2011. I had (2) separate groups to carry into Turure Water-steps on this day. A Canadian couple I had in the morning period and the overall trek to this again wonderful series of water-steps was really lovely and although the dry season is now officially setting in, the flow of the water here was not as heavy as how it was just last week….nevertheless, my clients had a great time here and after just over an hour, we were back out and they departed very satisfied.  I waited in Arima for my other clients who eventually and again, we headed to the Water-steps and need I say anymore about their amazement when they saw the spectacle……they loved it very much. There were a few Venezuelans and a Jamaican in our midst and they in particular loved what they saw and at the end of the day, it was nothing but fond memories at this Water-step.

Activities this upcoming week.

This upcoming week promises to be a very busy one for me as I have historical tours to both Port of Spain and San Fernando, North Coast tour, my final photo shoot up at Fort George, hikes to Mt. Tamana (Bat experience), Rio Seco Waterfall and Marianne Waterfall and River Exploration. A swell week indeed for me and so, I have to really manage my time here really well.

  GENERAL INFORMATION.

Now fellow hikers, I must inform you all that this upcoming New Year, I am launching my 2012 hikes right from the start and so, on Sunday 01st January 2012, the hike is at “RIO SECO WATERFALL”.  The reason for this hike is simply because on the following Sunday, every other hiking clubs would be launching their respective hikes and so, I don’t want to be caught up with any of them whatsoever on any part of the nature trail. I am also going to introduce “Membership Hiking” where a separate attachment will be sent to you informing you of the revised prices for all hikes and the advantages that will be enjoyed by you as a member of Nature Trekking.

Once again, strictly “Pre-paid Registration” is the order of the day with Nature Trekking hereby guaranteeing me of your participation on any hike/tour so that proper preparations would be made for each and every one.

Professionalism is the key of the survival of Nature Trekking in T&T Ltd.
