One MUST be extremely fit to undertake this particular adventure.

The rating for this hike is (9) Extreme

LEG 1

The first leg of this expedition starts with trekking along dirt road from Brasso Seco Junction into the Madamas Valley, enjoying the vistas along the way, passing the occasional country houses along the way until we are engulfed into the deep Madamas forest. Trek along a narrow trail until the Madamas River comes into sight.

LEG 2

The river trek begins in shallow waters. Special emphasis must always be placed on how you walk all along the river bed as the rocks are constantly slippery. Several areas along the river course are also extremely rocky and so, extra care must also be undertaken.

There are several deep pools that MUST be swum through hence for life jackets are given to everyone (swimmer or non-swimmer)….you do not have a choice here. There are several long gorges with deep waters; especially the last body of water leading to the beach that is extremely long and energy MUST be conserved. Welcome to Madamas Bay. Distance covered at this point is 14.5 miles.

LEG 3

After a brief stay over replenishing yourself before the next leg, the journey begins. We will endure trail walking all the way with brief stop overs at the various coastal beaches notably Grande Tacarib Bay, Petit Tacarib Bay, Murphy's Bay and the popular Paria Bay, only accessible either by boat or hiking, ensuring that we keep with time to avoid reaching at the final destination at nightfall. We eventually reach to the Spring Bridge in Blanchisseuse where the trek officially ends. Overall distance covered is 25.1 miles.
