Summit of Edith Waterfall
In Chaguaramas, this hike starts on gentle terrain (138 feet - 42 meters) above sea level you start until the gruesome uphill trek awaits you. Steady and steep uphill trekking all the way until you eventually reach on the Morne Catherine road, at the exit of Archer's Hill, you've reached (1,515 feet - 462 meters) above sea level. Distance covered at this point is roughly (1.8 miles - 2.9 kms). When you reach to the eventual summit at (1,705 feet - 520 meters), downhill trekking begins where at some parts, downhill is quite steep, so care must be taken. Once again, steady downhill until we reach at a point where we veer off the trail that ultimately leads to the Macqueripe Beach from the Golf Course and instead we hike along really undulating terrain where there is absolutely no trail whatsoever until we come to a ravine. Follow the ravine until we eventually reach to our destination. THE SUMMIT OF EDITH WATERFALLS.
Now caution my fellow Trinidadians, there is absolutely no river pool to swim in. The pool at the summit is small and can only accommodate 2 maybe 3 persons at a time. The prime objective of this hike is purely for the fit and avid lover of nature those who just love visiting new places.
On our way out, we come back on to the trail from the summit of Morne Catherine and continue our downhill trek to the Macqueripe Golf Course trail and head back to our waiting vehicles.
Beautiful panoramic views of both the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Paria
