Mal D'Estomac Bay Fitness Walk
Best time for this hike - July to October
If you are
looking for a thrilled-packed day, then this hike is recommended. Grit
and determination is the order of the day. The hike starts with an uphill trek on a steep concrete "Fond Pois Doux Road" past well known "North Deck".
Lovely views of Port of Spain to the south and the Caribbean Sea to the north are simply breathtaking. Photographic opportunities are great here. At "Mal D'Estomac Junction", trek further downhill and enjoy fantastic views of popular "Saut D'Eau Island" in the middle of the Caribbean Sea .
On the long walk through forest is where hikers are put through the litmus test. Hear the sounds of the waves indicating that "Mal D'Estomac Bay" is close by.
On reaching the bay, bask and socialize with the group. Then immediately venture on a challenging route of uphill trekking along concrete and dirt trail all the way to Fond Pois Doux Road. Then it's downhill, before arriving at the original start of this hike. Mission accomplished.
Between the months of May to October, the sea is usually calm and perfect for swimming. During the other months, the waves
and currents are usually strong and swimming is definitely not recommended.
