SUPERTHON & CROSS - COUNTRY EVENTS 2018

Superthon

Bodow Events present two epic, annual marquee phenomena “Superthon” and “Cross-Country” to all fitness enthusiast. As the name implies, it's a SUPER event for SUPER people with a SUPER level of fitness. Hikers, runners, nature lovers as well as sports enthusiasts converge on this day to test their stamina, strength of mind and energies on this fitness extravaganza. Run or hike through unscathed flora and fauna of natural forest along scenic Northern Coastlines, with enticing beaches for company.

The Superthon 32 miles (51.5 kms)  is in a category of its own. It's particularly tailored strictly for fit, experienced hikers and runners.

It starts in a very remote east northerly fishing village “Matelot”. Head in a westerly direction along untouched coastline with the Caribbean Sea in full view. There are also “5” untouched beaches on the trail which add to the experience.

Continue in a southerly direction on the trail from “Paria Bay”,  through rain-forest to the cocoa village of “Brasso Seco”. From here, road trek up a steady but gentle uphill to “Arima/Blanchisseuse Road” then onto a wide dirt track that is unmarked, but historically well-known.

Finally, embark downhill on the exhilarating last leg of this event, into the deep valley of “Lopinot Village”. This historical village has breathtaking ambience.

Cross Country

The Cross-Country” Event,  22 miles (35.4 kms) focuses on the typical hiker or nature lover of good fitness condition. It starts in a remote west northerly village of “Blanchisseuse”  on dirt terrain from the historical “Spring Bridge”, with the Caribbean Sea in view, until  coastal forest comes into sight.

At the very popular “Paria Bay”, continue through untouched rain-forest, in a southerly direction to the cocoa village of “Brasso Seco”. Then road trek on a gentle uphill from the village, to “Arima/Blanchisseuse Road”. Here, a gentler uphill road leads unto a wide dirt track that is unmarked, but historically well-known.

The last leg of this magnificent event leads entirely downhill into the deep valley of “Lopinot Village”. An exhilarating experience!!
