Degree of difficulty of this hike is (8/9) - Strenuous.
Brief overview of the hike:
(1) This hike starts and ends at Maracas Bay......by Uncle Sams Bar. Start of the hike is on asphalt road where the surface is flat and easy going until we reach toward the mountain.
(2) Steady uphill trekking all the way to the summit of Loango (1,480 feet - 451.10 meters) before we start a steep descent all the way to the top of Luengo Village in Maracas St. Joseph (922 feet - 281.02 meters). Estimated time all depends on your fitness condition, but if you want to have an idea, a fit hiker should take about 1 hour 15 minutes to complete this first leg.
(3) At this point, trail trekking all the way back into the forest on the "El Cerro de las Cuevas Bench Trail" all along a great trail until we eventually reach to the "Watershed" where at this point we've completed our second leg. Altitude at this point is (1,900 feet - 579.12 meters). Average time should take about 1 hour 30 minutes on this leg.
(4) From the Watershed, it is first a constant uphill to the summit before we start the steady downhill hike all the way until we finally reach back at the start. Average time should take close to 2 hours to complete.
Distance covered overall is (8.3 miles - 13.36 kms).

Persons registering for this event via Whats app, texting, calling, emailing will be booked down and advance payment MUST be made at any branch of Republic Bank....the A/C # will be given upon inquiry. In the event of any cancellation, kindly inform Nature Trekking in T&T at the earliest possible time please. Kindly avoid the "No-shows" or very last minute cancellation except in genuine cases of an emergency please.
As this is a fitness hike, concentration of your well being is the major focus throughout this entire trek.
Wear long/short trousers ..... Your
Wear long/short sleeve tops. No sleeveless tops please.
Wear hiking shoes/trainers with good grips under the soles. Absolutely no slippers or sandals please.
Wear hat or baseball cap/hat which will be useful especially in the areas of exposure to the sun.
Use a backpack thereby keeping both hands totally free.
Bring along extra water/energy drinks/power bars, nuts, light refreshments.
Bring a change of clothing which will be left in the vehicles.
