Plane Crash Site Hike
Welcome to the western peninsula Chaguaramas and the popular Macqueripe Road. The trail starts at the historical "Tracking Station", along flat terrain, through the very popular "Bamboo Cathedral" and uphill to the old and dilapidated administrative building. Enjoy the flora and fauna of the forest while hiking on the "Tucker Valley Trail".
On this trail, the wreckage of a twin engine piper airplane is nestled within the forest. The aircraft is still fully intact, hereby offering the unique opportunity to inspect the wreckage. Here is also a great place to relax, munch on a meal and socialize before heading out.
Back on the Tucker Valley Trail, enjoy the vistas on the hike through semi-deciduous trees, where pending on the time of year, one can actually experience the 'tropical' version of autumn. Witness the beautiful array of bright red and yellow leaves littering the ground. It's quite enchanting and photogenic. At the little known "Huggin's Ruins" view the ruins of habitation, which signals that this enthralling trek is completed at the scenic "Samaan Tree Park".
