FROM SPRING BRIDGE & RIVER EXPLORATION VIA 3 POOLS
The rating for this hike is (5) moderately challenging.
Put your fitness to the test and walk for an hour on a steady uphill trail through virgin forest for the first segment of this hike. Once at the top, terrain becomes flat. Enjoy this for a bit, because a walk downhill introduces a trail mixed with portions of both flat and hilly areas before arriving at Marianne River. Grand Fond Waterfall is now a close distance away.
Swim leisurely in a natural waterfall and pool, but be careful when swimming at the sides of the pool where it is extremely rocky. Wear shoes as a precaution.
Afterwards, trek downstream
Marianne River through rocky terrain. Slide on the natural water-slide, swim through beautiful
pools and small gorges and gasp at lovely vistas which are definitely a bonus on this trail.
Arrive at the popular “3 Pools” and have fun. Note that the return hike from'3 Pools' is just 12 minutes away from Spring Bridge.
GRAND FOND WATERFALL FROM AVOCAR VILLAGE
The rating of this hike is (3) fair.
This hike is perfect for folks desirous in doing an easy walk with the family, for companies promoting team spirit among staff members and various other groups.
Drive into a small village deep in the mountains. Park, and take a short walk along a dirt road that eventually leads into forest.
A short uphill trek along a narrow trail leads to the summit. From there, head downhill along a prominent but very shady trail before arriving at a number of small stream crossings, before embarking on Marianne River trail. The waterfall is just a minute away.
Swim in a pool created by the beautiful, natural waterfall. Please be careful when swimming along this pool, as it is extremely rocky. Therefore, it is strongly advised that shoes be worn when venturing to the sides.
After a fun-filled day, trek upstream Marianne River, to the end of a dirt road to conclude this hike..
