Details on La Foret Bay

The rating of this hike is (3) Fair

View the rugged coastlines and many rocks in the sea. Walk along the beach or sit and reflect.

Start at popular "Salybia Bay" in Toco and take a nice and easy uphill walk on a wide road through abandoned "Coconut Estate". Exposure to sun is inevitable on a sunny day, so walk with a cap, broad brimmed hat or even an umbrella. Walk to the dead end of a dirt road and view "Keeshon Walcott Lighthouse"  as well as natural, rugged north-eastern coastline of the Atlantic Ocean.

A side trail from this dirt road leads to a rocky La Foret beach. There are a couple of small pools that are shallow and ideal for hikers/swimmers to just sit and relax. Trek further along rough terrain to the tallest point and see beautiful La Foret Bay.

There is a trail that leads directly to the beach and swimming here is simply fantastic, especially when tide is out. There are also lots of shady trees along sandy shore to sit under and have a snack.
