Details of the Hike
From the word "GO", is water-trekking every step of the way upstream the North Oropouche River. Trekking in the waters is completely safe and shallow throughout.
We eventually reach at a point where we distinctively see the difference of the river where clear "limestone" coated rocks are visible and the overall ambience of our surroundings changes.
There are a combination of shallow and deep waters to your leisure. You are a swimmer, you are in for a treat. You are not a swimmer, do nor despair for life jackets will be available so that you can enjoy just as the swimmers. If you are just for the hike and no swimming at all, that is certainly not a problem as well.
We arrive at the gorge eventually and there is the river bank to rest your bags and other belongings and at the gorge, of course there is the shallow end and the deep end in the middle of the gorge.
For the adventurous, in the middle of the gorge, you can climb the rocks at the side and either dive or just plunge into the deep emerald green waters.
A rope will be in place from end to end so that you need not overexert yourself swimming from end to end that takes so much energy from especially the unfit.
The route we took to get to the gorge is the identical route we take to get back out.
