North Deck to Mount Vigie & Return
A very nice and scenic hike throughout the walk on the "Fond Pois Doux Road". From North Deck, a short uphill trek greets us where at the summit, we will be greeted with astounding views of Port of Spain to our south and the Caribbean Sea to our north. Fantastic photographic opportunities here.
From the top, a steady downhill trek through the small and friendly neighborhood of Paragran Village gives us more scenic views as the evening steps in and the setting sun rays gives a majestic feel to our surroundings once the evening remains clear.
As we pass "Mal D'Estomac Junction", more uphill trekking until we eventually reach to "Saut D'Eau Road" on Paramin that ultimately brings us to the summit, Mount Vigie. If we reach at the summit in time and the evening is clear, we are in for a memorable sunset.
As the full moon sets in, from Mount Vigie, we will be witnesses to the dignified "SNOW MOON" which will give generous light to where we stand.
We will relax on top of Mount Vigie and relax before we eventually make our way back along the route we took to our parked vehicles.
At the end of the hike, a light snack and soft beverage will be served by the vehicles.
Details of the Hike
Highly recommended that "LONG TROUSERS" be worn, as it will get rather chilly as the evening steps in and on top of Mount Vigie.
Wear short sleeve tops, BUT bring along a long sleeve warm jacket. WARNING. On evenings, it is chilly in the mountains.
Vitally important that you bring along either a flashlight or a headlight.
A proper backpack to carry your water, snack, and other items you may need for the hike....and most important, keeping your two hands free.
Just for safety, it will not hurt walking with your umbrella.
