Details of Paria Bay & Waterfall
Hike Both Ways
Rating of this hike is (5) Moderately Challenging
Trek through natural forest, swim in beaches along the way, stand on a rock uniquely shaped like a turtle, called “Turtle Rock” and enjoy jaw-dropping views of the Caribbean Sea and rugged natural coastlines. Depending on the time of the year, turtles may even be seen swimming here. This is just a taste of what's in store on this three (3) hour trek from Spring Bridge in Blanchisseuse to Paria Bay.
The hike to Paria Bay is on a trail, which is a perfect combination of uphill, flat and downhill walking throughout. On arriving at Paria Bay, a majestic natural rock known as “Cathedral Rock” or “Paria Arch” is fittingly positioned to welcome or greet hikers at the beach's entrance. Walk along beach to another entrance that leads to the celebrated “Paria Falls”. Swim or just view this mesmerizing waterfall.
Return to the beach, and head to nearby secluded “Murphy’s Bay”. Depending on the time of year, which is usually between April - October, swimming is really splendid here.
Now trekkers, what is required here is that your fitness level must be good, primarily for the return hike which many times can prove the difference between hiking to the beach earlier on.
